This is a large size Black Mother of Pearl Shell. We have choosen shells of good size and colour, to have the natural lime coating on the back ground off to a matt finish and coated with a clear lacquer. This process reveals the genuine natural beauty and colour of the shell under the lime. “The Black MOP is the French Polynesian Variety of Pearl Oyster. It is known as a bivalve shell, meaning it is composed of 2 shells. The polished shell for sale here is one shell only, which is one half of the Black Pearl Oyster Shell, polished.”
